Join The DPC Women's Cafe Community

DPC Women's Cafe is a supportive private online community for female physicians to leverage collective wisdom and expertise. While running your own practice is fulfilling, it can be a lonely and isolating experience. Gender bias also affects the way female physicians must protect their time and energy. DPC Women's Cafe offers a safe space for female doctors to discuss these issues without judgement. Through online group discussions, weekly group virtual coffee sessions, and exclusive content created or curated by Dr. Adame, female physicians now have a virtual coffee shop to find support.

Retreat FAQS

How in the world do I get to Culver, IN?

My team and I are so excited to share the beauty of Culver, our small town by the lake, with you. We are located in Northern Indiana, approximately 2 1/2 hours from Chicago, 45 minutes from South Bend/Notre Dame, and 2 hours north of Indianapolis. The closest airports are in South Bend, Chicago or Indy. Josh will help you arrange airport transfers if you need them.

How many CME hours will the retreat offer?

We are still developing the curriculum and itinerary and speaker list, all of which will determine the CME hours. We are aiming for 8-10 CME hours for this retreat. Our CME accreditation is through the Indiana State Medical Association.

How do I pay for the retreat?

You will be charged a $300 non-refundable deposit at the time you register to reserve your slot. We will send you an invoice soon after registration and again as we get closer to the due date of August 25th. Full payment is due August 25th.

Do you accommodate dietary restrictions or preferences?

Yes absolutely! All meals are whole-foods, plant-based so they will be vegan, diary-free, egg-free, meat-free, and fish-free. Our menu emphasizes nutrient-dense, high-protein options created to help stabilize hormones and sustain optimal well-being. We aim to use local produce. Our greens, berries, and apples are locally grown. All meals will be gluten-free or have a gluten-free option upon request. All pastries are made by a local baker/farmer (who also provides some of our produce!) and are vegan and gluten-free. If you have additional dietary restrictions or preferences, please list on the registration form or let Josh know. Your safety and comfort is our priority.

I would like to share a room with a friend. How do we register?

If you wish to share a room with a friend, both of you should register for the retreat and pay the $300 deposit. List your roommate's name on the registration form, and ask them to list yours, and we will apply the discounted shared room cost to each of your invoices.

Will there be men at the retreat?

No participants, workshop leaders, or speakers are male. Chef Chris (my husband) will be at the retreat house to prepare, serve, and clean up for dinner on Friday and Saturday. He will briefly stop by to deliver fresh scones on Sunday morning and at check out to help us pack up the house. One of the local male farmers may deliver produce during check-in, if his wife is unable to do so. Our aim is to hire all female yoga instructors for 2026. Last year this was not possible because many of the local yoga instructors are also farmer's market vendors, so Dr. Sam Boys led our Saturday morning yoga session. All of our attendees felt comfortable and safe with Sam. I have known Sam for 10 years. He is a safe person, and a trauma-informed yoga instructor. He recently retired as the Director of Spiritual Life at Culver Academies. I will give him the ultimate trust I can give a male-identifying individual: I would trust him to watch my drink at a bar. Your safety and comfort is our priority.

Who will do my massage?

Jessica Sliter, owner of JS Massage and Esthetics, will be our on-site massage therapist. You can see her lovely face with us on the second photo of the 2025 gallery. I have known Jessica for about 8 years. She is one of our Culver Peds moms, in full disclosure. She does massages for our team retreats or when we offer free massages as a thank you to our patients. Depending on the number of attendees, we may need to hire a second therapist. If that happens, it will be someone female, local, who we know well and trust. Your safety and comfort is our priority.
